Dr Safwan graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2021, winning the UoB ABAOMS prize in Oral Surgery. He has since honed his interest through surgical extractions and implant training.
He also qualified with honours in Regenerative Medicine and Innovation Technology in Kings College London, with his research focussing on fluorescence to diagnose cracked tooth syndrome and planning innovative technology for precise administration of local anaesthetic. He also attained an extended project qualification (EPQ) focussing on the implications of oral bisphosphonates in clinical dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, he loves travelling and spiritual retreats having visited the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa. He is an avid podcast listener ranging from history to current affairs and also enjoys cooking and hiking.
